Well that looks like the last of the warm weather for Wines by Farr in Bannockburn, with the wind and rain expected to come through later today.  It has definitely been a vintage to remember, with fruit still out hanging, waiting to ripen on mainland Australia.

Easter saw the pressing of the Tout Pres, which was full of tiny berries and intense fruit this year.  The 100% whole bunch fermentation has emphasised the finesse and perfume of this site.  Now to rest in barrel for 18  months before being bottled.

What a fantastic response to last weeks Chardonnay pack offers!  We are thrilled that so many of you will be receiving these by courier soon, ready for you to enjoy as you please.

Please note, that due to the huge increase in online purchasing throughout Australia, courier and postal times are basically similar to the week leading up until Christmas.  We are doing our best to get your orders out as soon as we receive them, hoping that the wait time for delivery is reduced as much as possible.

Farrside by Farr Pinot Noir

The Farrside vineyard, split into two sections called 'Roadside' (Dijon clone) and 'Fussy' (MV6 clone) by the vineyard team, has once again been one of the last Pinot Noir vineyards to be picked in full this year.  The wine is often referred to as the more Masculine / Edgy Pinot Noir in the By Farr range, even though a large portion of the set up for this vineyard was 'hard sweat' by Robyn and Cassie.  While Gary was overseas marketing, and Nick completing one of his many vintages at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy, Robyn spent many long days reading her book in the Roadside vineyard, making sure the wire spinner kept 'spinning', as Cassie walked each wire out, ready for dripper lines to be attached.

Did Nick extend his time at Dujac to miss running out the dripper lines?.....  Some secrets will never be revealed to the ladies at Wines by Farr!
