Chardonnay - 'SOLD OUT'

The soils are very much reflected in the nose of this wine. Its minerality and sublime fruit are textbook stuff. Fine earthly character with a touch of toasty french oak, elegant but subtle. There are layers of flavour giving the wine real texture. Five to eight years to enjoy.

Viognier

A touch of green, rich and deep gives an immediate impression of richness and power. Classic varietal character, superb on the palate it exhibits minerality tending to spice with a silkiness slightly viscous with a lingering powerful conclusion. Slightly finer and less alcoholic than previous vintage. Five years to enjoy.

Pinot Noir - 'SOLD OUT'

Has a great nose with perfume just beginning to come through. A long extraction period has enhanced the structure, giving good weight, firmness of flavour on the long savoury, almost earthy palate, finishing with a hint of sweetness and shows great ageing potential. Five to eight years to enjoy.

"Gary Farr travels to Burgundy most years and knows as much about the capricious pinot noir grape as just about anyone in Australia. This wine demonstrates just how good Australian pinot can be; a lovely nose, intense varietal flavours and a delicate savouriness. Masterful." Geelong Uncovered, OUTthere, Winsor Dobbin, April 2006.

By Farr Pinot Noir 2004.  "…This is lengthy and structured, with a dry, clean, mulchy finish… Excellent and outstanding…"  Campbell Mattison,  www.winefront.com.au, April 2006

Sangreal (Holy Grail) - Pinot Noir

The new addition last year. An epitome of Pinot Noir with a rich savoury nose and great lingering perfume. Intense colour and flavour on the palate owing to a long extraction. True palate weight and lots of length. Seamless in its delivery. A great drink now but with lots of ageing potential. Eight plus years to enjoy. Is it really Sangreal? Not yet, but I think I am getting closer.

Shiraz (with Viognier)

Deep powerful colour enhanced by 5% Viognier, the wine is full lifted and intense in style. The Viognier provides the lift on the nose and added richness and seamlessness on the middle palate. Pure Shiraz fruit still abounds in a style of wine reflecting European influence. Spicy, savoury, supple, very moreish. Five to ten years plus.
