Farr Rising Tasting notes
Chardonnay 2008
Great colour, showing lean, minerally nose with fruit and integrated French oak but almost dominated by the soil characteristics. The palate is fine but firm with great acidity, texture and length. Superb aftertaste. I think this wine is classier than the 2004 and unashameably my style of Chardonnay.
ABC ( Anything but Chardonnay) 2008
The aromatics of a delicious Viognier with a clean fresh and exciting palate for the Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc drinkers. A fun and great drinking wine. A seriously good Viognier.
Saignee 2009 – SOLD OUT
Geelong Pinot Noir 2008
Soft perfumed nose beginning to build. The palate has sweetness followed by minerality overtones enhanced by toasty oak. Firm flavours, long and savoury finish. A gem with ageing potential of 5 – 8 years.
Mornington Pinot Noir 2008
A medium ruby colour. The aromas are instantly alluring on the nose showing some tobacco leaf and cedary characters, perfumed and elegant.
On the palate it has ever changing flavours that are spicy and sweet fruit lingering to savoury fine silky tannins. Excellent length and balance. Fantastic drinking now and a strong future ahead.
Shiraz 2006
This wine has been cellared, to show its fantastic array of fine tannins and opulent fruit from a great vintage. Great mocha rich coffee perfume with a hint of spice from a cool climate vineyard.
Very moreish and filling in the mouth with style and elegance for a shiraz.
